Celebrating the richness of Indian beans and the people behind them through the SMOOR Indian Bean Collection.
Great chocolate begins long before it reaches the kitchen.
It begins in the soil, in the patience of farmers, and in the careful journey of the cocoa bean.
For the SMOOR Indian Bean Collection, the idea was to recognise and celebrate the growing story of Indian cocoa. As the beans for this range are sourced directly from Indian farms, we saw an opportunity to create something more meaningful than just another product line. This collection became a tribute to the farmers and the craft behind every bean.
Instead of focusing purely on flavour notes, the storytelling began at the source. FATLEG worked on shaping the visual narrative and design language for the collection so that each bar reflects the journey of cocoa itself.
The packaging features illustrated farmer figures, each capturing a different stage of the cocoa process, from cultivation and harvesting to drying and preparing the beans. These visuals celebrate the hands and the labour that make chocolate possible, bringing attention to a part of the story that often remains unseen.
For the truffle collection, the narrative expands further. A circular composition brings together farmers, chefs, and customers, forming a continuous loop that represents the journey of chocolate from farm to craft to experience. The circle becomes a quiet symbol of connection, showing that everyone involved in the process is part of the same story.
The colour palette draws from a vibrant and energetic visual language, reflecting the spirit of India itself. Rich tones and expressive illustrations bring warmth and vitality to the collection while ensuring the design stands confidently within SMOOR’s premium universe.
At its core, the Indian Bean Collection subtly reinforces SMOOR’s larger brand philosophy: United by Flavours. Different people, different places, and different skills come together to create something meaningful.
Because behind every great chocolate bar is not just a flavour - but a journey shared by many hands.
